Better late than never

After having the game for 2 years, AND NOT TOUCHING IT, I finally got my hands on Final Fantasy X today.

=). Needless to say, it was a very enjoyable 3.5 hours of gaming. The standard of the game, despite it being 2++ years old, is breathtaking. Simply awesome! I haven't ever seen such detail, beauty and vastness in a game's environment. It is indeed in a league of its own. Nothing I say will beat experiencing the game yourself.

If you have to, rob the bank for a PS2.

Oh...Singapore has another thrust into the gaming industry by setting up GCC. I hope to be there someday. Maybe...maybe not.

Just went I was complaining about the heat wave...it rained last night. And I almost freezed to death inside my air-conditioned room. WTH!

Just downloaded winamp player and was playing around with several skins. The weird thing is winamp seems to cause the music I downloaded to skip at times. Hmmm, maybe the quality isn't that good, that's why.

1 day to Chemistry S Paper and the end of prelims for me. I should be hitting the books today. But I have not idea how to do anything, where to start and whatever whatever....SHIT! I gotta stop this rotting. I am wasting myself away. How very useless indeed....=(

And cried and cried and cried.....I feel a bit sicken..argh.

FFXI

The first online game in the Final Fantasy series, which is an unfortunate thing.

Online games have monthly subscription fee, which is sibei heavy duty for me. Money sucking bastards, my friend calls them. I totally agree.

I want to have a go at FFXI so badly...but I can't! This is so extremely dissing. The worse thing is I just read a blog about someone who is playing. I am too upset to think of a proper swear word to use in this instance...tmd.

I was thinking if I could play, then I can sort of realised my fantasy...hehe. Train the character until he is like GOD-LIKE...you know Zhang Wuji right? Hahaha, equipped with all the best weapons and skills....AND

Hmmm...

Nothing much to say. But I do have a great deal to kaobei about Seoul Garden. The place just suck big time.

I am not a fan of BBQ-ing my own food. Because I can't cook, can't wait and can't eat food raw. Expensive too...the student price of $8.99++ was highly misleading. And the food was BAD. Everything was burnt charcoal black, over salted and undercooked.

The variety was pathetic too. Sliced beef, black pepper beef, sweet corn ice cream and...can't remember what I ate liao.

I got splattered with my fair share of hot oil too.

Having said that, it was still quite an enjoyable eating experience because of the company. Again? Never.

Seriously cannot understand why there were so many crazy people stuffing themselves with food at such an insane hour. Buffets are really unhealthy....shall starve myself for a few days to make up.

After reading thoughts

Just finished reading 倚天屠龙记. It was 6 hours of joyous escape from the harsh reality of the world. It is not the first time I read it, but still, it invoked a great deal of emotions.

First things first, I have been mistaken about the ending for 2-3 years. Somewhere along the line, I thought the book ended with Zhou Zhirou speaking to Zhang Wuji and then disappearing into the sunset. In actual fact, both of them together with Zhaomin were in the final scene. I like this ending...because it gives me room for imagination.

=)

Althought this is not so called classical literature, I still think we can take away quite a bit from the book. Go read it if you have the time...My troubles have been lessen a wee bit by the reading.

I was desperately looking for HSDS starting theme, which I am happily listening to now. It is easily the MOST difficult download I ever attempted because the server kept on resetting my connection.

In the end, I downloaded GetRight to help me download the song. Speaking of GetRight, it is really a fantastic program. No spyware, clear layout and it works well! DARN WELL! In anycase, if you don't trust me, just ahead over to Cnet's website for a more comprehensive and authoritative review.

BTW, the connection resetted itself 18 times before the song was stored safely away in my HDD.

As been quite awhile since I wrote anything about soccer or F1 racing.

NUFC's season has been turning around since the new manager came. Thankfully. At least it saved me from vomitting several pools of blood. Yeah, and they jsut won West Brom 3-1 with all my favourite players scoring! =).

At long last, my computer has some semblance of a working chunk of metal parts.

It is a major shame that I couldn't get the Win XP Professional Edition to work with my computer, even though it did so at my friend's place. Hiaz. Oh well, you can't expect IT to always go your way.

Anyway, I realised how much I was missing out when I got my hands on my friend's (Eddie) POWERFUL computer. It was...erm....SI BEI POWER SIA! What was even more saddening was Eddie has 3 computers at home. All 3 are more powerful than mine....generally speaking.

Hmmm...my Dad actually has been bugging me to upgrade the computer, or more like buy a new one since most of the parts are obsolete already. The question is 'Should I?'...hmmm

I turned on my computer this morning. It worked really well and I almost wanted to kiss it. Then suddenly, the screen went blank while the PC was still humming away.

I wondered what had happen but didn't worry too much since it was probably the monitor losing the signal. I just switched it off and found that the cable to the monitor had fallen out.

Plugged it right back in. And turned on the computer again.

And now I got a fucking 'Windows Protection Error' which only allows me to boot in 'safe mode'. Tried every way possible of fixing it and resulted in utter failure.

I am blogging on the laptop now, which is also FUCKING acting like a crank.

What did I do to deserve that? I swear I will never play CS again. FUCK!

I just merely did an improper shutdown, which at this point in time, half the world's population is also doing. This is extremely pissing. And to think that I have wasted around 6 hours trying to fix the PC.

Biology MCQ is tomorrow. This is terrible. I have no wish to reformat my HDD...I can't! There are too many important things inside. It might be the case where I have to bring it down to a repair shop. Either that or I would have to go get another HDD to do some Major data transfer...

In front of me now, I have 3 course of action....
(You see, I am fricking fuming now, typing this out will serve to help rationalise my thoughts)

1. Buy a new HDD and recover my data from the old HDD
2. Seek help from friends or go to a repair shop
3. Repair it myself

The problem is I doubt the 2nd method would yield any results since it is most likely a HDD crash or software malfunction. The 1st and 3rd method would definitely be time-consuming and money-wasting.

A day of misses (Part II)

Apt title since I was playing CS just now...=(. Mentally drained and shagged. No one is online in MSN now...just when I wanted to have a chat to pass some time away.

Not sleepy yet at this unearthly hour.

Anyway, I was mutli-tasking (chatting, playing and watch TV) just now and had a little talk with a primary school classmate. =). It seems that I might be on the brink of a 'burn out'. Whatever that might be...since I don't plan on having one, neither do I AM having one.

I hope.

Amazing Race 5 ended. I wasn't particularly in the mood to watch it today. Yeah, but was quite excited and depserately tried to root for Team CC. Alas, the winners didn't win. But Phil did say that they must be 'one of the most competitive teams in the Amazing Race'. I think that is high praise, even though Team CC did win 6 of 13 legs and were only thrown into disarray due to outside influence on the 10th leg.

Is it discourage or enlightenment? When you give up on something that you have work for so long and so hard, is it because you have seen pass material success or is it just that you are too tired to go on?

Singaporeans like the Mid-Autumn Festival thingy at the Chinese Garden. There were SWARMS of people there.

Anyway, Physics P1 and P2 were not up to expectation. I make many errors that I shouldn't have. Hiaz. And I didn't EVEN GET A SINGLE ANALOG QUESTION RIGHT !!!!

I am totally dissed.

Still, I managed to find time to LAN and had my first haircut at Orchard. I don't think it was worth the $12 spent...=(

Back to Physics, as I was saying, just FUCK IT la. I hate myself for being such a moron!

And I just kicked a file on the floor. My toe is bleeding now....Amazing Race should be on later, somehow, I don't feel like watching it.

Bullfighting

The 'super rich', those obscenely rich, like to learn bullfight as a form of sport. It gives them an adrenaline high. At $12 000 (US I think) a lesson, you get the chance to learn from a master and get analled by a bull. Not just any bull though...it seems the bull goes through selective breeding, which makes it one mean bull.

Go to the Mid-Autumn Festival exhibiton at the Chinese Gardens. Entry fee is $15. Highly not worth it.

Go to the International Food Fair at Suntec City Hall 403. Entry fee free + continous, non-stop FREE food. Highly worth it. Go if you don't have prelims to study for.

Argh hungry now! Shall go have fried rice...should I heat it up?

Btw, if you have cold fried rice, the best thing to do is to add garlic and oil to a HOT claypot and fry the rice again until it forms a layer of burnt rice. Add in a generous amount of Lee Kim Kee Chiun Chow Chili Oil (now widely available in NTUC) and fry for another 2 minutes.

Taste is heavenly.

The weekend papers are always filled with advertisements for handphones and Hp lines...Quite enjoyable to joy at the latest models and stuff. I want a clam-shell style Hp. It looks really cool !!!

My current Hp has been ridiculed as being 'like a bloody toy'. =(. It is a SIEMENS M55...argh. But I find it much easier to use than the SE, which gave me a lot of problems with reception.

Ate a fair bit of instant noodles recently due to sudden, unexplainable hunger late into the night. The Sunday Times is going to introduce a $5.65 per pack instant noodles tomorrow. OMFG..I must be down at NUTC to check it out man.

Wondering what is the reason to justify such a price...hmmm???

Track and Field Meets

I was flipping through the old booklets that RI use to give TFMs. They used to give each student a copy I think and many threw them away.

I kept 3....the one from secondary 3 is missing somehow. Must be kenna stolen by YOU la! Bitch! I am damn sentimental one ok......GIMME BACK MY BOOK!

Anyway, I was like recollecting very happy memories when it dawn upon me that my present school didn't have a TFM for the past 2 years. It seems they suffer from severe lack of funds, which goes a long way in explaining why the LTs are crumbling, the hall is still cooled by fans and majority of the teachers are sub-standard.

[Just added the last comment in a moment of jest. Up to you to decide man...as for me, I am keeping my opinions to myself. But my tutors are good....as for the rest...hehe.]

Not complaining though....just factual observations.

But come this year end, they are gonna move to a brand new sparkling complex in Bishan, without me. Great.

I was doing some mathematics problem when my Dad asked me if it was ok to throw away some pieces of long, slender, badly rusted pieces of iron...etc etc.

I said 'ok' and went back to doing the sums.

They were thrown down the rubbish chute and now I am regretting not taking a photo of them.

Anyway if you are wondering, I am using NJStar Chinese Word Processor to type this chinese characters. A very good program indeed. Modelled after Microsoft Words so it would be familiar to many and I think it is much more stable than Hansvision.

Too bad I got it of the internet from the website. It is only a 30-day shareware version...after which I would have to waste time looking for a crack....oh, I meant waste money buying the program....haha =).

Ahhh, thee wonders of open source programming...LOL.

Anyway, nothing of interest is happening right at the moment except for the fact that I haven't stepped out of the ouse since the Septmeber holidays began around last weekend.

I got home probably around afternoon time 3/9/2004. For confirmation. please go to the archives.
It is now 10 41 am 9/9/2004. Which means......

I have stayed at home for approximately 24 x 6 + 8 = 152 hours.

It is probably one of the longer periods of time I have stayed home. And no, I don't feel the slighest urge to go out to get some fresh air.

There is always the computer, Yi Tian Du Long Ji and wanking to keep me pretty much satisifed at home. The only downside to this is I am at the mercy of my parents.

For whatever reason they decide not to buy takeaways, I would have to suffer the torture of eating home-cooked food.

Yes, I am unfilial. I promise to earn a lot of $$$$ next time and give it all to them. =).

Then got really hungry at around 11 am since I had breakfast at like 8 am plus. Alas! My mother wasn't at home and there wasn't anything to eat except instant noodles.

Being a lazy prick, I decided to go hungry and wait for my mum to come home with lunch. BIG MISTAKE. She got home at only 2 pm...WAY past my normal meal time....WITHOUT LUNCH.

In the end, it was kimchi INSTANT noodles. Hiaz. But before you think I am suffering from child abuse, the food courts i.e. Food Junction sells these kimchi instant noodles at 5 bucks per bowl.

Don't believe? Check the rubbish bins of the Korean outlets in the food courts.

That's really good news...just wondering what type of a 'pass' it is....Hmmmmm.

Biology practical was well, gay. I ended up drawing what I thought people would draw. In the end, realised that I was the only dishonest lying faker around in the school. GAY!

Next time, I would try and draw what I actually see.....argh!
