Take a breaking from writing. So far so good. =D.

6 37 PM

Just woke up from a long slumber.

Am feeling some insecurities with the essay because I can't seem to edit/improve it much.
Either it is perfect or I am missing something. I fear the latter.

12 33 AM

Gaming was bad. I stopped without saving. Argh.

Finally completed all the drafts for my CMU essays and I don't think they need much tweaking from the looks of it. Haha. Now to just do the tying up and pack the envelopes off to my teachers!Troublesome...=(.

It's Wednesday already. I can't wait for things to happen!

Bakerzin / 5C3

Supper at Paragon

I managed to convinced my friends that supper was a more worthy cost than watching Zorro; that movie wasn't starring Keira Knightley anyway.

Just to sidetrack a bit, after supper, we went to roam the streets about and the Halloween/Deepavali spirit was really in the air. =). Lotsa of people dressed up to party and people-watching was great, =D. Alas, it couldn't last longer...EYE CANDIES!

And I was thinking of hawker food like satay, char kway teow, laksa and zi char...But no. Supper was in town, in Orchard, in Paragon, at Bakerzin, formally known as Baker's Inn.

Ambience was relaxing, service was prompt and friendly and the food...hmmm

The Menu

Dessert Tapas: Hot chocolate shooter with vallina ice cream; Raspberry panna cotta; Vanilla creme brulee
Main Courses: Smoked Salmon linguini; Pork escalopes with pesto linguini
Cakes: New York cheese cake

Hot chocolate shooter with vallina ice cream
Tasted too much like a shoot of pure melted chocolate. The taste of the vanllia was overwhelmed completely. Very normal.

Raspberry panna cotta
I liked the presentation a lot! Felt a bit like eating a cheese cake with berries on top. The sweet and sour flavours combined very well and played a lovely tune on my palate.

Vanilla creme brulee
Thought to be the best among the 3 tapas. A layer of caramelised sugar covering the sweet offering it has beneath. I was reminded of an egg tart when sampling it.

Pork escalopes with pesto linguini
Hmmm, quite nice. The portion was sufficient for one. The pork was quite well done, but I felt that there was too much pepper and it was a tad too salty. Kinda dry too...The linguini was served with a healthy about of olive oil, which I don't think is that healthy...but yeah, it was good. =D.

Photography wise, I just wished that I had taken more pictures. I was too hungry! =S.

Excessive time on the computer induces nauseas.

Argh.

***

I'm in a bit of a rough patch now, mental constipation. So a beautiful Sunday has gone to waste staring at the screen. Oh man....all the pain and angst is coming back!

Booking in at 10 30 PM, which is only a short while later and thus I am consigned to my fate of not being about to complete the essay today. The bad thing is I probably (please NO) won't have any ideas for quite some time. Argh.

$250 is a lot of money for a dinner, even if it's for two, =S.

Get those brains workingggg...!

Post No. 2100

Woke up today to the aftereffect of yester's food binge. But the pain in no longer there so I am kinda okay now. Just a slight discomfort....hmmm.

Am feeling surprisingly chirpy for a book-in day. Do not get me wrong like what my friend did last night. He thinks I have been indoctrinated. I am just looking forward to be back home tomorrow. =). Public holidays are blessings. God praise all Indians and Malays.

Feeling a packed day ahead with the university applications. I am still toying with the idea of buying Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go. Books are ridiculously overpriced these days.

Work beckons.

Class dinner

I just came back from the gathering, tired, sleepy but happy. =). The turnout today was great and it was especially good to see some of the guys whom I haven't met up with in a while.

Dinner was at a steamboat place along Beach Road near Shaw Towers. I think it's Liang Seat Road or something. Walked past that restuarant a couple of times actually but this is the first time that I dined there. A crazy friend decided that 麻辣火锅 was the way to go. And even though we ordered the least spicy soup base, I was already dizzy, numb and sweating over it. The food was really okay, nothing to spectacular and somehow the ingredients they offered didn't really agree with me. Price was quite steep at $15 per head so I think I wouldn't be returning any time soon.

But yeah, I must try some other 麻辣火锅 place!!!

After dinner there was desert as well! We went to Swensens for ice cream and the Frosted Chocolate Malt was so disappointing. It was nothing more than a glorified mars bar. Hiaz. I was expecting real, milky, creamy ice cream man....=(. But service there was superb and we celebrated my friend's very very very belated birthday. Hahaha. I think the captain really knows how to play the PR game.

Food aside, catching up with old friends never fails to make me happy. =). It's nice to know that everyone is getting on with their lives just fine albeit some complains here and there. Life is never a bed of roses. And even roses have thorns.

My mind is refusing to think of unhappy things today. =).

Forms and more forms

Missed soccer filling in forms.

The progress like always, is painfully slow. I was going to go out shopping in the afternoon but my Mum decided that she will get the pair of slippers for me. So there goes a chance to escape the suffering of thinking and writing and more thinking and writting.

And the worst is yet to be. =S.

I still have a chance though and that is to go for the class dinner later in the evening. However, something is holding me back.

Work beckons...then rest. MGS 3 is proving to be a hard nut to crack. Argh.

Saturday

After close to 8 hours of sleep, the fever is almost totally gone. =).

Last night, I had a rather nice dream for once, no more of that horrifying thing that makes your limbs go numb and sweat turn cold.

I dreamt that I was with Y (that's kinda impossible) looking out into the sunset. Ahhhhh. So sweet. =).

For once, just once, I pray that something concrete comes out of it.
You know the year is coming to an end with all the christmas cards and 2006 diaries in the stores.

And I laid back to think what I have done in this past year but fell asleep amidst all the depressing talk about the future which seems so far away. A future that is likely to be less than bright. How terrible. =(.

Had been down with fever for the past two days so life in camp was just a constant pain in the ass. Thankfully the ailment cleared up just before I booked out this evening! AT 6 30 PM!!! =). Too bad I won't be going for the soccer session tomorrow. Hiaz. Guess that would mean missing out on a great deal of fun...

If life in camp is anything to go by, I would be sleeping most of my life away. And they say that your 19-20 years is the prime of your life. I feel listless, tired, lethargic and dull.

Went out with some friends for dinner just now. IMM seemed so foreign. It has been a long time since I went to a Singaporean mall and the lights took a great deal out of me. My eyes are hurting quite a bit.

Nice to see Singaporean girls as well....=)

Right now, a good rest should be in order. It's 10 30 PM now and I am still in front of the computer pondering about the PS 2, shower and stuff. Night.

Gaming Pains

I was suddenly urged on by unknown forces to pick up the PS2 and play a bit.

The last time I played MGS 3 was on the 17th of March, which makes it an abstinence of SEVEN WHOLE MONTHS.

Alas, the touch is no longer there. I must rediscover the art of gaming soon.

The body is exhausted.

I never knew. The world played another joke on me today.

The pot called the kettle black. Yucks. Booking in soon...HIAZ.

Cya this coming Friday.

Now,where do we start from?

Hmmm. Now that I am back, I have a zillion things to do and I keep losing track of the order which I wanna get the stuff done.

It doesn't help that the frigging army decides to force me back into jail at 10 30 PM tonight. Geez. Talk about a breather!

Fortunately, the weekend is near. And next week, I get off from Tuesday to Thursday! Woohoo! Plenty of time (I hope) to get things do right.

For now, I need some more rest.

Yesterday this time, I was in Taipei (Si Men Ding) zonked out on a table in KFC like some homeless guy.

***

My brother ____________. And I valiantly defended the privacy of his pictures from my parents. I feel rather gentlemenly today. Hahahaha.

I did saw a couple of them and was positively sicken. It is MY camera anyway man. My mother is disowning me now. Darn.
Yeah!

I am back HOME.

We part only to reunite

After a hectic morning, I am finally able to afford myself some free time to do some thinking.

I woke up at 7 30 AM today, but closed my eyes and forced my head deeper into the pillow refusing to believe Monday came so fast. The night before, I was struggling against sleep, but the TV show (some vampire rubbish) was just overwhelmingly boring. I kept telling myself today is Sunday. I kid you not.

I am actually quite apprehensive about this upcoming trip probably not because of the trip itself but due to some things that I have yet to settle. I just packed off the Stanford application this morning and with it, all my hopes. For now, I can only endure the long wait. And when I come back on the 25th of this month, more applications would have to be done. It's already giving me a headache.

I will think about it on the plane. For now, I enjoy the last few hours in the place I know so well.

***

Thinking of picking up a book at the library before I go off.

***

A friend of mine likes Luther Vandross's Dance With My Father. I never realised, until now, that he might have deeper reasons for liking the song. If I am wrong, then so be it.

It's raining today.

Oh yeah, Happy Children's Day, even though that was yesterday.

***

The rain has stopped and the sun is out. My room is a furance.

My feet has turned cold and my heartbeat quicken. I went to that website last night and saw people taking the path I rejected. I want more. I rather regret trying but failing instead of not trying at all. I am groggy from all the risks and hopes I am taking with me. Come this December, we will know. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Failing though, really isn't an option. =(.

Now is still too early to write a good bye post. Tomorrow will probably be a more suitable day.

Wondering what to do with the time on my hands... ...

Life is made more meaningful by experiencing it together.

Outing

That's the new TV, SHARP Aquos LCD

Dinner at PastaMania with Tb and Eddie

Chef's recommendation, $8.20. Some baked pasta thingy that is so minute I finished it in 5 minutes. Hardly worth the price...and wait.

Seasme Corriander Chicken Pizza. The serving was sufficient but the taste was short of fantastic. A tad too salty in my opinion.

Some chicken pizza again, this time in BBQ sauce. Not bad, but not unforgettable either.

After dinner, I stepped into Paradiz for the first time in ages and some thing really don't change. The LAN shops were still packed to the brim and I bumped into JY while playing!

Roaming around in Bugis after LAN-ing was a pleasant affair. I kinda like the vibrancy of the place. And I saw a Yuna doll that costs $180. Jesus Christ!

***

During dinner, I saw beauty and the beast. If I had my running shoes on just now, I would have risked take a couple of shots for your viewing pleasure. Alas, luck is always not on my side.

That's all for today. So free....NOT!
